February 23-28, 1889

Sheep passed us about midday. 24th. Feby: Started again and came in about 5 leagues and stopped with the sheep that night.

25th: Found 3 sheep killed with lions this morning but did not see the lion. Started the march again and made about 4 leagues and stopped with the sheep that night. 26th: Rested all day.

27th: Started again and came about 5 leagues and stopped, as the guide is a thick-head and cannot remember where the cut-off is: has to go and look for tracks.

28th: Started again to go to the first water, but the guide lost himself ...
