February 2-7, 1889

February 2 1889: Started again and passed the Frenchman and [went] about 1½ leagues further up.

3rd: Started again and went to the cut-off for Port Desire. Camped alongside the zanjón. The Frenchman was camped on the other side; very good place to camp for a day or two.

4th: Rested. Went to the Lago Colhué Huapi; about 3 leagues.

5th: Doing nothing but looking after the horses, [and] for water ahead.

6th: Went out with the Frenchman to help him to get beef, and got it.

7th: Doing nothing but looking after the horses.
