The Sociedad Explotadora de Tierra del Fuego, founded in 1893, grew to become the most important ranching company in the region, at its peak controlling nearly three million hectares in the south of Chile and Argentina.

This monograph, by Fernando Durán, was published by agreement of the Board of Directors in Valparaíso, Chile, 1943, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Company's foundation.
