STRANGE SUCCESSION OF ACCIDENTS. THREE SHIPS BURNED.

The ship Nonantum, Capt. Bates, from Baltimore to this port, laden with coal, when off Cape Horn was destroyed by the ignition of the coal. The captain and his lady took passage from the Falkland Islands on a British ship, also freighted with coal, which likewise ignited. She was abandoned by the passengers and crew who took passage on a third vessel, the Fanchon, loaded with the same material as the other two, and again the coal ignited. The last vessel made the bay of Cobargo before she was destroyed. Capt. Bates will probably not go to sea again on board of a coal ship.— Californian Paper.
